Organizational Development & Relational Dynamics
This course provided a background on the many avenues which we interact with organizations: as working parts, consultants, change agents; it helped create identity around our skills through actively seeking feedback and developing a sustainable action plan. These self-discoveries encourage us to move forward, support our growth and goals.
We explored Intentional Change Theory and Complexity Theory; the components that comprise change, and what it means to take human centric approach.
Here are a couple of quotations from our main source to give this course context:
OD provides "opportunities for people in organizations to influence the way in which they relate to work, the organizational and the environment”
Anderson, 2020

“Leaders demonstrate trust by giving employees information; explaining organizational direction, values, principles, and rationales; including them in dialogues and discussions; and allowing them to make decisions.”
Whether its harvesting cherry tomatoes or running tech companies, people take pride in what they do. If we're not fulfilled by our jobs, we search for meaning in other ways.
How can we support one another in this quest? What do we need to be present, support our community, understand other's perspectives and acknowledge our own potential for growth?
Here's a brief recap of the course highlights with links to affiliated projects.
Hello
One thing every course had us experiment with was the power of introductions. Whether through videos, by clarifying our values or finding a way to describe your beliefs, This program had me reflect on the importance of arriving with a sense of self.

Here's a glimpse of my introduction to this class:
Resource Library
This course broke us into teams and had several book critiques
for some pivotal literature on organizational development concepts.
I read Crucial Conversations, a fantastic read that offered tools
for staying mindful and aware during heated situations.

Change Agent Strategy
Lastly, this course challenged us to invite feedback from people in our lives, reflect on our strengths and gaps and make a learning agenda and sustainable plan to realize ourselves as Change Agents. This takes me back to one of my core values - roots - reminding me to constantly reflect on why I think a certain way and how to create awareness towards things I may be resistant to.
